This weekend Team CarnaudMetalbox Engineering – Blades of Glory, took to the water at this year’s Dragon Boat festival.
The event was a huge success, through sponsorship alone CMbE raised an impressive £4,500 for the Lord Mayors Appeal. All funds will be split 50/50 to the Bradford Community Kitchen and Bradford Marie Curie Hospice Charities.
Blades of Glory took to the water on Saturday 2nd July competing in the Lord Mayor Championships. The team finished 5th out of 25 teams, with an impressive fastest time of 1.01.29. A special thank you to the Yorkshire Sharks Dragon Boat Club for the dedicated training on the canal!
The event is a fun family festival, adrenalin fuelled dragon boat racing on the water, and land side attractions for the whole family. Designed as a free to spectate festival, the event is organised by the community of Bradford for the community of Bradford.
