The CMbE Charity Committee

The CarnaudMetalbox Engineering Charity Fund has been helping employees and donating to local charities for over 30 years with 2021 being no exception.

The money in this fund is donated entirely by employees of the company and is held in a separate account to any CMbE monies.

Donations to various local charities are made on an annual basis. Here are a few ways the charity fund has helped throughout 2021:

Children’s Christmas Toy Appeal:
For another year running the CMbE Charity Committee & staff have kindly donated toys to help The Rotary Club of Shipley in their annual Toy Collection for local disadvantaged children at Christmas.Toy Appeal 2021

The generosity of people & businesses this year has been mind-blowing. When purchasing bikes a generous member of the public donated £80.00 out of his own pocket to buy 2 Scooters, thank you Luke! All the toys that have been bought and donated by everyone will really help to make a huge difference to lots of families this Christmas.

A special thank you to Halfords and B&M Retail who provided a 10% discount on our purchases to help the cause. B&M also donated a trolley full of toys bought by customers for families in need at Christmas. This initiative, run by The Rotary Club of Shipley relies on donations from local businesses and residents to provide children from more deprived backgrounds with a Christmas present. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped to make this year’s collection the biggest one yet!

Local Food bank – Supporting families in need this Christmas:

food bank 2021

Once again another fantastic effort from our employees to support those in most need this Christmas. Food donations are made to the local food bank by members of staff all year round, but this year we knew things would be extra tough for families in crisis over the festive period.

All items have been dropped off with our local food bank. Thank you & well done Team CMbE!

The Charity committee donated £200 to each of these staff challenges.

Supporting staff members in their time of need:

Contributions from this fund are primarily there to help our own work force who may find themselves in difficult situations, for example bereavement or ill health etc.
