We are looking to recruit a Continuous Improvement Engineer to assist the plant operations, contributing towards improving manufacturing efficiencies by utilising continuous improvement techniques.

Ideal candidates will focus on the “vehicle of change” comfortable working with all levels within the organisation with the ability to challenge the status quo with strong communication skills.

Job Requirements
Primary responsibilities will include but not limited to, leading continuous improvement projects. Applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools and methodology in the implementation of manufacturing excellence initiatives. Lead lean projects directed at reducing waste and improving quality to provide greater valve; implements such tools as: 5S, KPI, SMED, VSM, and Kaizen. Lead cross-functional continuous improvement teams; focusing on measurable quality, service and cost improvements. Be aware of and support the implementation of formal six sigma tools to reduce process and product variation. Implement such tools as: SPC, Process Capability, Pareto analysis, Fishbone, SMED, DoE.

Train, coach and motivate personnel in the understanding and adoption of new principles and techniques. Drive the standardisation of processes and the implementation of metrics and best practices.

Ability to demonstrate the knowledge of and involvement in CI projects, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and to follow standard project methodologies such as DMAIC.

Candidates must hold a HNC or above in Mechanical Engineering in addition to being green belt trained or working towards a formal qualification.
