CMbE Statement to our customers during Covid-19 crisis

A message to all of our valued customers

The COVID-19 pandemic is creating completely new challenges for businesses like ours. CMB and its customers have vital roles to play in the food and beverage supply system and the continued operation of our facilities is a part of that mission.  To that end, CMB plans to operate its facilities with as little disruption as possible, so long as conditions permit and a safe and secure workplace can be maintained. To address school closings we are introducing flexible working across our sites to allow factory workers to juggle childcare while keeping production going and working from home for those who are capable of doing so.

CMB is a company with a worldwide footprint and we are closely monitoring our supply chain and the restrictions being put into place by governments around the world.  As a precautionary measure, CMB is in the process of significantly increasing our current stock holding levels to allow us to ensure production of your current machinery builds remain on track. We are doing the same in CMB Norwalk and CMB Shanghai to ensure we can support you with spares. Additionally our service team are now gearing up for remote support, utilising the latest technology and equipment.

Please be advised, however, that we cannot predict what additional steps governments or our supply chain will take to combat this pandemic, and how this will affect freight operations. As such we have been able to reserve space in UK warehouses should we see a block at ports, both air and sea, to allow production to continue at CMB. That said this is dependent upon our supply chains still functioning and our ability to increase our stock.

We will remain in close contact with you throughout the year.

Our goal at CMB is to service you to the best of our abilities as we work through this crisis together.
