200 DAY MECHANICAL SERVICE ENGINEER  


The Candidate
An opportunity has arisen for a Service Engineer on a full time (200 day) contract.   The full time role is permanent and the successful candidate must be prepared to spend up to 200 days a year on service work, which can involve extended periods living away from home.

CMB Service engineers are professional in their approach, organised and capable of prioritising own workload.  In addition, engineers will have a flexible style, be a team player and will be capable of communicating appropriately and confidently with people at all levels

Role Details
Successful candidates will be experienced mechanical engineers, and familiar with can production machines.  The job involves the installation, commissioning, repair and maintenance of CMB equipment on customer premises and you will provide and update technical bulletins and ensure that customers are informed of all the latest developments.  In addition you will identify opportunities for machine upgrades & enhancements.

Essential
Previous experience within the engineering industry is necessary as the role requires a familiarity of engineering and the technical knowledge of high speed metal forming equipment.   Applicants must be apprentice trained and qualified Mechanical Engineers or equivalent, with a willingness to travel.

Package and further details
Pay starts at £31,360 plus 80% service allowance, increasing to £34,318 plus 80% service allowance based on performance and experience gained.  Bonus, private medical cover and pension scheme are also included.

BENCH HAND – NIGHT SHIFT

The Candidate
We are looking to recruit a Bench Hand on a Fixed Term Contract with experience of fitting high complexity components.

Role Criteria
Suitable candidates will be capable of accurately fitting and deburring parts to drawing specifications. Ensuring all documentation is up to date and legible. Conducting operator asset care tasks. Reporting hazards. Auditing work areas to company 5’s standards. Undertaking cleaning pit-stops at the proposed time efficiently and effectively. Escalating any tooling, drawing, routings and machine faults. Participating in investigations to determine non-conformance (5Y/8D). Documenting any data relevant to associated tasks. Ensuring that stock control procedures are adhered to. Participating in cost saving initiatives. Providing feedback to the improvement team. Communicating issues and complying with all risk assessments and procedures

Knowledge & Experience
Ideal candidates will have prior experience of bench fitting/hand skills with knowledge of Quality systems and procedures, problem solving, mechanical and technical skills. Excellent attention to detail and basic lean principles

Package and further details
37.5 hours per week Monday – Thursday. Grade B3, plus 33.33% shift premium, bonus, pension scheme, 25 days pro-rated holiday plus bank holidays as applicable.

STORES OPERATIVE – DAY SHIFT  

The Candidate
We are looking to recruit a Stores person on a Fixed Term contract for six months with previous experience of working in a busy fast paced warehouse environment with solid experience in data entry for the efficient flow of materials in and out of stores with the use of IBS/JDE.

Role Criteria
Suitable candidates will be capable of accurately inputting high volume computer entry records, maintaining records of materials and stock control. Responsible for receiving and checking in respect of quality, damage and specification, stamping and endorsing driver’s copy of delivery notes. Issuing materials to the shop floor as and when required.
Identifying and transferring stock to the correct location. Lifting and placing materials safely in areas out of public risk and protecting as required. Communicating issues with deliveries or quality. Complying with all risk assessments and procedures.

Knowledge & Experience
Ideal candidates will have experience of or a willingness to learn basic Windows Microsoft functions, goods receiving and data entry systems especially JDE/IBS. Hold FLT license and Reach Truck license. Proven experience of operating Manual Handling Equipment (MHE).

37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, grade B3, bonus, pension scheme, 25 days prorated holiday plus bank holidays.

ASSEMBLY TEAM LEADER – UNIT 9  

Reporting to the Assembly Manager we are looking for an experienced and suitably qualified person to join the production management team in Assembly at Unit 9. .

Main duties will be:

  1. Maintaining a safe working environment and ensure that all tasks are undertaken in a controlled manner using appropriate risk assessment methods

  2. Execute the daily, weekly plans for the department, managing the manpower and other resources to carry them out in an efficient and productive manner.
  3. Lead continuous improvement activity to improve operational efficiencies in order to deliver reductions in waste and cost.
  4. Provide leadership of the assembly team, including permanent and temporary production staff
  5. Development of production workers such that key tasks can be delegated to operational teams in order to meet shift targets.
  6. Responsibility for the training and development of engineering apprentices in your area
  7. Support effective usage of process improvement and lean manufacturing tools such as SPC, FMEAs, 6S etc.
  8. Implementation of the plant sickness and absence policies, including return to work interviews.
  9. Disciplinary management, including investigation and delivery of appropriate disciplinary sanctions.
  10. Effectively communicate through the use of a range of reports including investigations, shift reports and assessments. Also communicate to all levels via presentations and briefings.
  11. Take a lead role when customers are on site for machine buy offs
  12. Resolving production problems as and when they arise
  13. Communication with management, engineering and other relevant persons as required
  14. Contribution to production reports, time and attendance records, all other job related administration in an accurate and efficient manner
  15. Other duties as required.
